If you are going to use AWS S3 or DigitalOcean bucket to store your uploads for better performance and save your server disk space you will need first to move your old uploads from your server to your bucket.

Note: After moving your files don’t forget to change all files/folders permission to public not private so any one can access your uploads (images, videos … etc)
